The House voted Thursday to advance a resolution finding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, and a related resolution that could lead to civil court action against Holder.
Members voted 254-173 in favor of a rule governing floor debate for the two resolutions, setting up more debate and votes later in the day. The rule was approved by every Republican, and 15 Democrats, a sign that the resolutions might win the support of about a dozen or more Democrats later in the day.
If 15 Republicans joined Democrats on anything it would be heralded as “historic bipartisan agreement!”
In this case we’ll see this reported as “primarily upon party lines…”
Still, good news.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIn the end seventeen Democrats voted to hold Holder in criminal contempt.
It is unfortunate that they chose to hold this vote on a day when the Obamacare ruling ruled the news cycle.
This is truly historic. I don’t think most people realize what just happened here. Eric Holder can now be held criminally liable for the results of the Fast & Furious program. If I were a conservative legal group, I’d be hunting down families of murdered Mexicans now.
