Britain has been set ablaze by rioters for three nights in a row. The rioters are generally young and unemployed and are hearing that their future welfare checks are going to be cut. They are setting cars, trash bins and buildings aflame. Police have told citizens whose property and person have been attacked to let the rioters alone and let the police “do their job.” That job appears to mostly be holding enraged citizens back from retaliation against the rioters.
Don’t think for a minute that this can’t happen here.

It can happen here. It will happen here.
The reaction, however, will be significantly different – especially in the “red” states.
What we are seeing is the systematic self-destruction of the welfare state across Europe and North America.
This is exactly what conservatives like me have been warning about for decades. As a society we have promised more than we can deliver. Those of us who have said we are on this path have been called heartless, evil, greedy, even racist by those whose political fortunes are fed by the doling out of other people’s money.
The bottom line is that we are now seeing what it means when you run out of other people’s money. And it’s ugly.
Oh, and Drax, I believe you are right. Citizens like me will not sit idly by and watch our lives, property and fortunes be destroyed by raging barbarian hoodlums. There will be blood.
Yep! And, it’s a damn shame it’s gonna come to that. None of us are going to feel good at all about what we are going to have to do.
We will be cursing FDR, and Johnson…and really every leader that forced us into a position where we have to do what we never wanted to…and that’s a lot of cursing!
