Hmm…. been very hard to lose any weight lately. I don’t think I’m doing much any different, but the pounds just aren’t coming off….
At least I’m not gaining any…

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackCosmic, the “not gaining any” deal is excellent. You’ve read everything, and heard everything, I’m sure. But, I’ll go ahead on anyway from personal experience.
It seems that I have 3 set points that I fluctuated between for many years after losing so much weight. I hung at 182 on the way down. Then I hung at 156. Then I stopped at about 142. Over the years when I started to gain, I’d always level back out at 156. I spent about a year at 156 when I wasn’t exercising…then down I went like a rock to 142. Gradually, I dropped lower and lower, but then shot back to 142. I’m about 7 pounds below that now, but fully expect to one day wake up and be back at 142.
And I know from experience that if I don’t watch myself, I will go right back to 156 in short order…then to 182. There are certain weights that my body likes. I’m figuring that your body likes 175, and once you push through that threshold, it’ll easily drop down to the next weight it likes. I’m thinking probably around 160…but what do I know?
It SHOULD be hard to lose weight as you approach your ideal weight. (I think you must be very close if not already there.)
In fact, as you approach your ideal weight, taking further weight off should be almost imperceptible since you SHOULD, at that point, be eating the amount of food (and type) which will MAINTAIN that weight.
