Well, so today here was my breakfast:
A single egg omelette (cooked with light oil, not butter)
– one egg
– 1/4 cup 2% milk whipped into egg
– 1 cherry tomato, chopped
– A fingerful of shredded cheddar cheese
One piece of wheat toast (with faux butter)
One slice of sausage (two ounces)
1 cup of grape juice mixed with one cup of cold water
That’s my splurge for the week breakfast. I’m sure it’s quite a bit more than the recommended breakfast limit for calories…
Love my new diet. Love it.

So, after that breakfast, when do you eat breakfast?
I have been very good about sticking to my diet. Here’s a typical day from the last week:
Breakfast – Black coffee and a Special K breakfast bar ( <100 calories)
Lunch – small salad with 1 oz meat, heavy on mushrooms, broccoli, red peppers, celery, spinach etc. Light ranch dressing. Water. (probably 250 calories or so)
Dinner – Broiled chicken, small salad (see above) wheat toast (one slice) rice (1/2 cup), juice/water mix.
For snacks I've been eating radishes, celery, carrots, broccoli spears and other stuff like that.
Unfortunately we got some Christmas candy in the mail so I've been eating a couple pieces of candy each day. Probably wasting all my good habits…
Jebus! Good will power going on there!
I admit that food (other than chocolate and hamburgers) doesn’t hold much appeal to me overall (I eat to live…), and I frequently skip all but one meal a day — but, I would have a hard time getting along on that…
Good job. Keep it up!
(And, happy belated birthday…)
Yeah, keep it up, Cosmic! Good on ya’!
Don’t throw anything at me, but I’m kinda’ like Drax. I have to remind myself to eat something, because if I don’t I know I’ll get weak, or tired later on in the day.
As you know, I don’t eat meat. So, the chicken deal for me is fish instead.
As far as the snacks you’re eating goes…good on ya’ again! I happen to really like vegetables, and know that a regular intake throughout the day can right a multitude of wrongs.
I don’t snack on them though, because I don’t snack. But if I did, that would be the way to go.
Looks like you’re just hitting near 1200 calories maybe (more or less). It sounds tough, because it is. When I lost that 80 pounds in the late 80′s, it was pretty close to that number of calories over roughly a year.
After a while I got used to it, and the dropped weight made me feel like being more active. I finally decided that it was a brain thing…I got to where I didn’t really even think about eating because I was too busy.
Of course, it’s easier in your late 20′s than in your 50′s. But, you’ll accomplish what you want/need to with this. I know you will.
I think I mostly have been eating out of habit more than anything else. I find munching on celery or radishes just as fulfilling as munching on candy, and I’m surprisingly not missing soda at all. And I find the half juice/half water drinks to be quite flavorful.
But it’s only been a week…. Gotta keep at it and do better on the exercising…
