A federal judge has ruled in favor of a public university that removed a Christian student from its graduate program in school counseling over her belief that homosexuality is morally wrong. Monday’s ruling, according to Julea Ward’s attorneys, could result in Christian students across the country being expelled from public university for similar views.

So, I’m not a hardcore social conservative. I frankly don’t care a lot about people’s sexual orientation. I figure I’ve got more important things to worry about than what two grown people do behind closed doors.

But expelling a student who has a religious belief that homosexuality is morally wrong sure seems to fit in the category of religious prejudice.

My guess is that today’s SCOTUS would overturn this on a 5-4 ruling. Let Obama replace a Scalia or a Kennedy on the bench, and that would become a 5-4 confirmation of the lower court ruling.

Now, the real test of this would be for a school to expel a MUSLIM for the same belief. Think that’s gonna happen? Not in this lifetime.
