There is all sorts of criticism coming to the fore with the publication of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated. Here’s the cover with Lindsey Vonn, America’s best hope for winter gold:
Now I’m about as sexually hypercharged when it comes to seeing a female as you can get, but I frankly don’t see anything overtly sexual about this pose. Isn’t that how you ski? It’s called the “tuck” position, right? That’s with a “t” right? Not an “f”…
Some people….

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI suppose the answer to the posed question is: “If Rosie was posed likewise, would it be sexy?”
…. Uh.. If that’s the answer, then I can’t think of any pose that would be sexy…
Heh, then it ain’t the pose…
Oh, I concur that she exudes an athletic girl-next-door sexuality, but I’m pretty sure she’d look sexier in a bikini.
It would take serious effort to de-sexify that gal.
I mean…
WHEW!
I wonder if the comments would be the same if it were say Shawn White posing like that on his board.
I don’t think she is America’s best hope for gold, period. I think she is about the best WOMAN participating in the olympics for the US. There are a number of men skiers who are favored to win medals in a number of different venues, as well as snoboarders. Have no idea on the other sports, but the skiers and snoboarders were all highlighted on the X-Games.
There was also some of the women snoboarders and jumpers who were talked about to medal.
Face it, she is on the cover because she is able to melt that snow… with a look.
