F.B.I. Raid Divides G.O.P. Lawmakers and White House – New York Times
OK, let me get this straight. Congress passed laws and has repeatedly strengthened them in the “war on drugs” that have essentially given the police power to break into any house they want at any time they want and Congress is screaming because the FBI is searching the office of one of their own who is caught on video accepting a $100,000 bribe from an FBI agent?
This sort of hypocrisy is what is causing Americans of all political stripes to despise our politicians….

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI wonder how many voters are feeling the way I do. I know I am beginning to despise all politicians – both Democrat and Republican. I’m sick of their hypocrisy. I’m sick of them demagoging critically important issue like our war against radical Islam. I’m sick of their inaction and/or subterfuge when it comes to the illegal immigration issues. I consider them derelict in their sworn duty to protect and defend this country from all enemies foreign and domestic. I’m sick and tired of the graft and corruption on both ends of the political spectrum. I’m also sick of the abject ignorance and stupidity of American voters (see recent New Orleans mayoral election) that keeps incompetent incumbents in office.
Here’s hoping some kind of voter revolt is on the horizon…
The only voter revolts we’ll see brewing among the increasingly ignorant and illiterate public will be tied to American Idol results.
A sad truth I’m afraid. Sigh…
This is really getting me fed up. The only thing Nancy Pelosi and Dennis Hastert can agree on is signing a letter attacking the FBI and the President for searching the office of a Congressman caught on video accepting a $100,000 bribe from an undercover FBI agent?
This idea that the investigation is somehow a separation of powers issue is not only ludicrous, it smells heavily of privilege and abuse of power. It is the responsibility and sworn duty of the Executive branch to enforce the laws of this country, and that includes enforcing laws that are broken by hypocritical politicians. Just the fact that one of them would advance the notion that it is a violation of separation of powers to investigate a potential law-breaking congressperson is a mind-blowing example of the arrogance of power and the condescension they have towards ordinary citizens who they think will buy any nonsense.
Yes, I am afraid that we are seeing the inevitable decline of a once-mighty and great culture. But I’m sure that will make a lot of people on the left happy. When the US is a second-rate power in the world, we won’t have to hear them whine abou “US Hegemony” anymore. No, we’ll be too busy learning Chinese or something.
The Democrats and the Republicans seem to be blurring together into the “Corruptocrats”. I’m conservative, and I hate the fact that we pay people rich enough for their own election campaigns umpteen hundred thousand dollars a year to act like medieval royalty or philosopher kings once we put them in Congress. They work for us and they need to have it illustrated for them. They didn’t attain washington as a birthright or a career advancement. We sent them to washington to tame the town. [/rant]
Our government needs a serious turnover, soon.
