I am something of an old fogey, if that word is even used anymore. My daughter just had her senior prom and I was up all night until 5:30 am driving her to prom and to “after-prom” and then picking her up from “after-prom” this morning.

What the heck is “after-prom?” I didn’t have any “after-prom” and even if I had, I just can’t see me asking my folks to take me to it at midnight, and then pick me up at 5:00 in the morning.

Factor in the fact that they had the prom down in the metro area (roughly 45 miles from here) and I put over 200 miles on my car yesterday (at $2.79 per gallon) driving her to and from these events.

Still, she had fun, and that’s all that matters, but still, when did this happen?

And why were there four or five limos there? How much does it cost to rent a limo for an evening? There’s nothing quite so engaging as watching teenage guys getting out of a limosine with their perfectly dressed, manicured and coiffured dates, while their jeans are about to fall off their behinds. Man, I am an old fogey.

At least the girl’s looked like they cared about the event. The guys looked like they were heading out for a game of pickup basketball. Well, not all of them, but enough of them.
