So yesterday was a 10 hour marathon garage cleaning effort. I’m not really a domestic type, cleaning the garage out ranks right about even with having a root canal (and having had about a dozen root canals, I’m something of an expert of them). The routine is always the same, for a year we’ve pretty much just dumped things into the garage however it was convenient for us at the time, meaning stuff was just stacked all over the place. Plus winter is pretty brutal on our garage because our cars just pull in snow, ice and mud until the garage floor is more dirt than concrete. So the usual technique is to simply pull everything in the garage out to the driveway and then clean out the garage. Then put back in the garage those things we want to keep. This usually leaves a pretty big pile out in the driveway of things that either need to be thrown away, or things we need to get rid of. It’s not real efficient out here to have garage sales, so we usually end up donating most of the overflow to charity. This year that includes two bicycles and loads of clothes the kids have outgrown.
Now I just have to figure out how to get all the trash to the dump… sigh.
