Actually, I missed the actual anniversary by eight days…. My first blog post was October 8th, 2005.

So four years and counting…. In that time there have been 4,296 total posts, and 14,706 approved comments, so about 3.4 comments per blog post…. I’m sure that sucks in terms of industry averages…

Things have definitely dropped off since Dadman decided to stop being an active poster. Frankly I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to keep this going. It’s not expensive, but it does cost some money and it can become a bit of a burden sometimes to try to keep enough posts on the blog to keep people checking in from time to time.

It’s interesting to go back and read through the posts. I see a lot of swing in the types of posts. Early on I did a lot of stargazing posts, and when I picked up guitar I started doing a lot of guitar playing posting. Of course I did some World of Warcraft updates for a while (I’m sorta bored with WoW right now, I barely play an hour a week now) too.

Right now my political posting has been pretty light. I’m really kinda burned out on the whole thing. I see Obama’s administration as the biggest threat to my children’s security and prosperity since the Cold War, but people accuse me of being an alarmist. Oh well.

I’ll keep it going for a while, probably at least try to make it five years. But it is clear that my enthusiasm is low right now. It’s a lot of effort and there is very little actual benefit from it.

But who knows, I may get all fired up and get back to posting five or six posts a day. Who knows…
