I am very pleased that she was released unharmed. In her interview she said the following: “They never said they would hit me. They never threatened me in any way.” But how is such a statement to be reconciled against this statement from one of her videotaped appearances on Al-Jazeera when she was a captive: “Give them whatever they want as quickly as possible. There is very short time. Please move fast.” If she wasn’t threatened in any way, what was the “very short time” she was referring to? And then there are these photos from the video:

In one photo she is in tears begging for her life, in the other she is surrounded by masked men holding AK-47 rifles.
“Not threatened in any way.” Not even when they murdered her Iraqi translator? What is this, Stockholm syndrome in action?
