This is, or should be, a HUGE political mistake for Obama. While Iran is busily building nuclear bombs, Honduras is on the verge of civil war, Afghanistan is backsliding daily and his “signature” legislative effort is falling apart in the Senate, Obama very publicly flew to Denmark to overtly campaign for Chicago to receive the Olympics.
Chicago was one of the first cities voted out.
So not only did he fiddle while Rome burned, he fiddled very, very badly. He was unable to turn his “world class charisma” into a virtually insignificant political accomplishment.
Drudge’s headline was “The EGO has landed.” I thought that was perfect.

It wasn’t that Chicago was one of the first cities eliminated, it was the FIRST City eliminated.
They do rounds of voting, the lowest vote getter is taken off the list. First round Chicago is gone. Second round Tokyo.
That is different from how the MSM is portraying this. They are now saying that Tokyo also lost in the first round, which is patently wrong.
MMMMMMMBarakHusainObama has embarrassed himself on the world stage. He put more work into this than he did on the health care issue. He had an Olympic committee he helped put together. He filmed multiple presentations for the package that was sent to the IOC.
He thought his mere presence would have the whole group bowing down before him and the vote to give it to Chicago to be over in the first round. Well, he got it half right. It was over for Chicago in the first round and made him look like a horse’s ass.
I don’t think Obama understands what it means to be “President of the United States of America.” He has such a diminished, negative view of this country, fed by years of being steeped in a stew of “Reverend” Wright, Bill Ayers and Saul Alinski, that he truly does not view America as exceptional, and as such he sees the POTUS as a sort of glorified community organizer.
