Yeah, Obama has really shown the world how his “smart diplomacy” has worked wonders with Iran, hasn’t he?

Iran pledges ‘crushing’ response to US critiques
Ahmadinejad—with his internal opponents virtually silenced—all but dared Obama to keep calling for an end to repression of demonstrators who claim the hardline leader stole re-election through massive fraud.

“You should know that if you continue the response of the Iranian nation will be strong,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech to members of Iran’s judiciary, which is directly controlled by the ruling clerics. “The response of the Iranian nation will be crushing. The response will cause remorse.”

Part of the reason for Ahmadinejad’s harsh rhetoric is that he is truly upset that Obama has been critical of Iran’s repressive regime at all. He clearly thought that Obama would sit idly by while they broke heads with abandon.

I suppose I should give Obama some credit for finally providing SOME criticism of the thugs in Iran, but the fact is that it took him over a week, and by his own admission it wasn’t until a Youtube video got out showing the murder of an innocent young girl that he felt compelled to respond.

In case anyone reading this doesn’t understand how things work, let me assure you that Barack Obama knew what happened to Neda well before the video became a Youtube phenomenon. If the actual murder had compelled Obama to speak out, he would have done so days earlier when he knew about it. It wasn’t the MURDER that compelled Obama to speak out. It was the PUBLIC REACTION to the murder. Obama could overlook a murder, but he had to respond to a martyr.

That says pretty much everything I need to say about Barack Obama.
