He only says things in his speeches to get the reaction he wants from people. He has absolutely no intention of turning what he says into what he does. What he says is just part of setting things up to be able to do what he wants to do. Case in point:
Obama Walks Back Promise On Keeping Your Private Insurance » The Foundry Less than 24 hours after Heritage Foundation President Ed Feulner questioned the veracity of President Obama’s persistent claim that, under his health care proposals, “if you like your insurance package you can keep it”, the White House has begun to walk the President’s claim back. Turns out he didn’t really mean it.
He NEVER “means” anything. Anyone who listens to anything Obama says and thinks that will have any bearing whatsoever on what he does, simply has not been paying attention.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIsn’t that the definition of a hypocrite?
I don’t see this as hypocritical. I see it as monumental cynicism. There is some aspect of hypocrisy to it, of course, but I don’t see hypocrisy as the source of the behavior.
When Obama says “you won’t have to change your coverage” when he really knows that your medical plans will go bankrupt once the government plan wipes it out, what he is doing goes beyond hypocrisy. What he is doing is outright lying to the American public in order to advance his agenda item.
Hypocrisy is usually meant to describe someone saying “you should eat better” while ordering a Big Mac themselves. That’s not what Obama is doing. What he is doing is lie in a calculated way to hide his true goals and advance his true agenda.
You are correct. That is much worse than hypocrisy.
Some might call it evil.
I might even be one of them.
I see it entirely differently.
You see, a Republican who made a claim he couldn’t back up would be hammered by the MSM. A Democrat, Obama especially, can make any claim and have the claim broadcast without any critical analysis by the MSM.
When you add this fact to the further fact that the vast majority of Americans are ignorant beyond belief and have lost their ability for critical thought, Obama is able to say anything have it broadcast and believed regardless whether it is false on its face.
For non-believers of this…
“95% of Americans will see a tax cut.”
“You will be able to keep your current insurance plan or doctor. Period.”
“I have created or saved 150,000 jobs.”
Just off the top of my head. Each of these are true on their face (or are unsupportable by any critical analysis) yet are uncritically reported by the MSM and the vast majority of the American Public believes them to be true.
Now, we will have the American public treated to a day of an infomercial put on by ABC news which will be watched by and absorbed by the unthinking masses as actual reportage and believed as well — probably by enough — for long enough — to get the damn thing passed.
Dang…
it should read…
“Each of these are false on their face”
Sigh

If so, I haven’t a clue as to how…
Here’s giving it a shot.
Edit: Thanks…think I finally figured it out!
