So my first post about folding a Kawasiki’s Rose led to me being shown the “true” version of the Kawasaki’s Rose. (I’m not sure of the spelling, I’ve seen it spelled “Kawasaki Rose” and “Kawasaki’s Rose” about equally, and I think I’ve been doing it about equally each way myself..)
Turns out that both of the roses I’ve found patterns for are “Kawasaki’s Rose” patterns. Seems he has been improving his rose over the years, so both of the roses qualify, but I wish then that it was a little clearer. I’ve been told that the first rose is now called the “rose bud” by some because it isn’t “open” like the second one, which is sometimes called the “22 degree rose” since you create a grid that should be 22.5 degrees off of parallel with the sides of the paper.
It’s really quite interesting how much debate you can spark with a simple innocent statement. My favorite part is when people enter the debate to tell everyone how silly it is to debate…
