Not yet, maybe, but it wouldn’t surprise me if these kinds of songs make their way into our government schools if Obama is elected. If you’ve just eaten, please accept my apologies for this post. It’s quite nauseating…
Poor children…stupid parents.

Don’t be too hard on them Cosmic. They are just cute little “US Americans” that want “whirled peas.”
This is just about the appropriate age level for dreams of world peace.
The problem is that too many people never seem to grow up from them.
I love the characterization of “government schools” and not “public schools”.
My post, Andy, but I’ll try not to be too hard on the little brain-washed Obamaites…
It’s one thing to sing about ‘whirled peas’ and quite another to sing ‘Yes we can, can, can…’ with the Great Seal of Obama plastered on the walls all around you. The parents of these kids are using them to propagandize Barack Hussein Obama…
I suppose I shouldn’t expect anything less from The Republic of Moonbats (aka Caleefornya)
Dadman: OH CRAP!!!!! Trust me (no, don’t trust me), I’ll eventually learn to read the by-line.
Dang…how hard is it to read the stinkin’ by-line? I’m hopeless.
This is just one more example of “personality cult” politics. To my eye there is very little difference between this sort of adulation afforded a politican, and a similar reaction to a religious evangelist.
Either way I find such worshipful displays downright creepy.
I find this, and other overly wrought diplays of adulation, disturbing as well. But then again, I was kicked in the jaw this morning by a horse, so my thinking may be a little muddled this afternoon.
Annie
Heil, mein fuhrer! Scary? Just a little!
Are these not school kids singing while on duty on the taxpayer dime?
Given that the socialist candidate for POTUS has also been widely feted as ‘The Messiah’, The Anointed One’, “Lord Barack Obama the Most Merciful’, and other such drivel, the case could easily be made for violation of separation between church and state……
like Big said: this is clearly their religion now, and we need to stop this afiliation with their “church” and state, but oddly this is only brought up when christianity is brought up, however every other religion that is brought up is for social stuides. hmmmmmmm…..
As Cosmic said; creepy. And not much different than the indoctrination-through-song that you see in the mega churches.
Incidentally, there is no indication that this is being held in a public school. In fact, the caption at the beginning clearly states “a neighbor’s house”.
Pace:
I find it interesting that you defended atheists in another post and asserted that atheists are subject to more ad hominem attacks than religious people and yet here in this post you talk about “indoctrination-through-song” perpetrated through mega-churches.
Is it possible that you do not realize that comment is precisely the sort of prejudicial attack on religion that Dadman was referring to, and which I say is more common and more acceptable than attacks on atheists?
I drew an equivalence between this example of worship, and what you see in churches. The point being that both constitute indoctrination of minors through the medium of song.
I don’t know how you go from that… to my expressing a presumably exclusive prejudice against religion. I would say my prejudice is against worship. And, going back and reading the comments above it is clear that you expressed a near identical sentiment.
Sorry, I don’t get it. I think you are simply parsing my words looking for a reinforcement of your argument in the other thread.
Pace:
You know, you may be right. Maybe I pushed the comparison a bit too hard. Based on my comment up above, it’s a bit disingenuous of me to be tackling you on this one when my own comment could be interpreted much the same way.
pace: I realize this little performance did not take place in a public school, hence the ‘?’ at the end of the posts title. I was asking the question (more or less TIC) – is this what we have to look forward to in our public schools after ‘The Chosen One’ is elected POTUS.
On a certain level it makes sense…they can replace all the Christmas carols they’ve removed from our public schools and replace them with jingles devoted to ‘Our Supreme Leader’ Obama.
Which all comes back to the belief that we should not adore other humans, with the exception of Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmond and David Cassidy (god am I old).
How is Obamamania so different than Beatlemania? The power that Obama may hold.
Heh, I remember all those. I was more of a Marie Osmond fan though.
Valerie Bertinelli…
Better stop now…
For Annie:
Dadman!!!!
Thank you so much. You are as big a dreamboat as David!
*hugs*
Heh, couldn’t find Bobby Sherman?
Ug. Not a big fan of Sherman…ever…but my sister certainly was. Enjoy Cosmic!
Dadman, have I told you that I’m impressed you have figured out how to post images and youtube links in comments? WordPress does not make it easy.
It sure doesn’t, but I like a challenge…
Heh…Annie thinks I’m a dreamboat. I feel like I’m in high school again.
You are a dreamboat, and I’m not the LEAST jealous about it, and never have been. Not even when I cut my hair like yours and bought a jean jacket like yours.
Pure coincidence.
(Didn’t get any more chicks that way either… )
I may have once been a ‘dreamboat’ – an immature, shy, selfish, foolish, impetuous, lucky-to-have-ANY-friends dreamboat. But that was a long, long time ago. I’m just a Dadman now…
Not even when I lost my hair….
Now I’m getting all depressed again…
Do we ever outgrow high school?
Nope, and I hope we never do!
High school, even junior high, was the ultimate humility lesson.
Funny how whenever I get too full of myself, something happens to remind me of times when I was a jerk.
It’s a good thing.
I sure hope so. For my part, high school is finally beginning to feel like someone else’s ancient history. That part of my life doesn’t even feel like my own any more.
May not be a bad thing either…
Heh…nothing like crossing comments. I think I’ve been too nostaligic at times. That tendency seems to be wearing off…
The Cosmic Daughter is off at college, and I’m now more reliving my college days than my high school ones.
Although the Cosmic Son is still in high school… So I’ve got that going for me….
I can confess that my grown children leaving the nest – one married, one in college, one in Mongolia, one, thankfully, still at home – is bumming me out more than I ever anticipated it would.
I really need to get a life now, well, a life that doesn’t revolve almost exclusively around being a Dadman…
I see a draeni paladin named “Dadman” on the Draenor server in the future….
Come to Colorado and go fishing with me!
Perhaps I will…
I can guarantee you some nice sized trout…
Okay, you guys are killing me, Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy and fly fishing in one post?
I have a Conure sitting in a cage across the room from me. He drops some lovely underfeathers that I so want to tie into flies, but no fly fishing in PA until spring. Y’all want me to send you some?
What kind of feathers?
Man, I haven’t tied a fly in way too long…
They are soft underfeathers of a Dusky Conure (a small parrot) almost like down, but with a stiffer spine. Betwwen a half inch and three quarter inches. They would tie up great!!!
Most of them are white/gray with a dark gray spine and a few have a bright green edge to them.
Now and again he molts some of the longer bright green feathers, but the big molt won’t happen until very early spring.
I tell ya, I got him off a client after her divorce and he is a dear sweet bird, but whenever I look at him lately, I see smoked trout, grilled trout, sauteed, baked, meuniere .. my mouth is watering.
It’s late to fish here in Colorado too, but you can still get some in.
Downy feathers are usually best for wet flies as “wings” (a misnomer for wet flies since the “wing” is actually supposed to represent the body of a baitfish…)
I once snipped some tail hairs from my labrador and used them as bucktail hairs…
