Didn’t Joe Biden get humiliated out of the 1988 Presidential election when it was discovered that his speeches over the years were peppered with outright plagiarism from multiple sources?
Also, since when is Joe Biden a “break” from the “old politics” that Obama keeps harping on? Joe Biden has been in Washington for most of my adult life and has run for President at least four or five times. He is about as fresh and new as a week-old donut.
Remember his famous remark about how you can’t go to a 7-Eleven in Virginia unless you have an Indian accent? Or how he answered a reporter’s question about his grades in college with “I’m pretty sure I have a higher IQ than you do.”
Man, just watching Slow Joe try to keep his loose lips tightened up for three months will be as much fun as anything I’ve seen in recent elections. Obama’s image polishers are going to be working overtime on old Joe I think.
I can only think that Obama thinks that Joe Biden gives him “gravitas” and is a comparable pick to Dick Cheney by GW Bush in 2000. If so that just shows how incredibly dense Obama really is. Dick Cheney at that time was universally respected and was considered one of the truly great minds in Washington. Joe Biden may be respected on the hard Left, but by and large he is considered something of a joke and a buffoon by Washington insiders. Reporters especially find him to be an easy target for a gaffe of the week.
If Joe doesn’t kill this campaign, then maybe Obama’s birth certificate and citizenship woes will. (Hat tip to Andy)

Of course, the ‘fake birth certificate’ story won’t necessarily need to be proven true or false in order for it to get traction with some voters. I would only wonder whether those are people who would seriously be considering Obama anyway.

You do realize, I hope, that “Factcheck.org” has serious conflicts of interest when it comes to Obama. The owners of Factcheck.org are ardent Obama supporters and have very close ties to Obama. I frankly take anything from Factcheck.org when it comes to Obama with a serious grain of salt.

My reaction to Obama picking “Slow Joe” Biden was one of actual laughing out loud.
Seriously, with the Obama campaign it has always been perilous to get between the candidate and a microphone, but with Obama and Biden BOTH on the ticket, I’m not sure their heads will fit into Invesco Field at the same time.
I thought it would be nearly impossible for Obama to find someone more arrogant and full of themselves than he is, but he managed it. The man is amazing.
