If Obama’s opponent in this year’s Democrat Caucuses and Primaries were anyone but Her Inevitableness, the pundits would be calling the race all but over. But since so many of the “upper crust” of both the Democrat Party and the Pundits have annointed Hillary for two years, you won’t be seeing any confirmation of Obama’s large and increasing lead in the race until it is no longer possible for those people to rationalize away the truth.
Obama has now won every single contest since Super Tuesday. On Super Tuesday itself, a day reported as a “big win” for Hillary Clinton, Obama actually won more delegates, so counting the results of each actual day of the race, Obama has won every day since New Hampshire. Hillary’s last win was generally credited to her moment of “humanity” when she teared up upon being asked how someone as “wonderful” as she could deal with the rigors of the campaign trail.
But the inevitability is more and more becoming her return to New York, where her next re-election as a Senator is no longer such a foregone conclusion itself…

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIt certainly is looking bad for the Ice Queen, and even the possibility of winning through Florida/Michigan additions and Superdelegates is remote (especially when you consider the threat of riots if she wins this way…).
But, the latest flap of Mrs. Obama (a Harvard/Princeton educated wife of a U.S. Senator) never before having been proud of the U.S. might have some short term legs…maybe enough for the next couple of primaries…and we can’t forget Puerto Rico either.
Gonna be something.
I heard some guy yesterday say he was going to start marketing “H20-bama”…bottled water to revive you when you faint in his presence.
Do you really think that Hillary will run again for
Senate in New York if Obama beats her? I’m not sure that she will…might take the John Edwards North Carolina route…not running is the only sure way not to get beat (again). I don’t know New York politics well enough to speculate. I guess Rudy might take another stab at it, but probably not. Who knows?
This Democrat race is really interesting to me in a lot of ways. I would love to see Hillary lose this one…but what if Obama actually becomes President?
My gut tells me that it will be Jimmy Carter all over again…complete incompetence, idiots at the highest levels, and a “conservative” Republican landslide in 2012. But these times are different than those times were…not sure that we can survive a “war-time” President like Barack O’Carter.
As a conservative, I find the idea of Barack Obama as president down right frightening. Especially if he has a democratic congress to back up his socialist agenda.
Obama (and his wife) seem to believe that we haven’t come any distance in race/gender relations since 1960, and, accordingly, we need more laws to equalize things out for the poor minorities who are still being oppressed (by going to Harvard/Princeton, being a U.S. Senator, Congressman, Supreme Court Justice, Mayor of Major cities, etc.)
Reading his web-site makes one shudder.
I think that Obama is going to find the general election far more difficult than spewing flowery rhetoric at a bunch of sixties rejects in order to win the Democratic nomination. I think the conventional wisdom that Obama is tougher to beat than Hillary is a bit premature. Nobody has really exposed Obama’s hard-core liberal roots yet. I actually think McCain has a better shot against Obama than Hillary.
I have no clue here, really. The debates will sway some voters to McCain if he does well and exposes Obama’s ultra-liberal nature, his lack of depth, and experience (at, really, anything).
But, the vast majority of Democrats will still vote Democrat. A huge number of youngsters “might” show up for Obama. And, if the fund raising numbers are true, he’s going to have one HECK of an advantage in spending.
In the last two Presidential elections Democrats banked heavily on “Tweenies” to come out and vote and by and large they stayed home and played video games. Will Obama get them off their butts? I guess it depends on what the latest game release is.
