FOXNews.com – Michael Vick Pleads Guilty, Will Not Be Cut From Falcons – Local News | News Articles | National News | US News
“I apologize for all the things I’ve done and allowed to happen,” Vick said during a press conference about an hour after he entered his guilty plea. Admitting to being uncomfortable with public speaking, Vick said he was “speaking from the heart.”
Translation:
“I’m sorry I got caught, and ruined my football career and lucrative endorsement deals. Really sorry. Really, really sorry. In fact I’m at least $150,000,000 worth of sorry. You have no idea how sorry I am that I got caught, and now have to go out in public and humiliate myself in this way so that I have some remote chance of restarting some sort of football career with all that money and fame after this blows over. You can bet that if I realized the dang law would have been so serious about a little dog-fighting, I would have done a lot more to hide it.”
You know what I think? I think celebrity apology management is probably a lucrative career.
By the way, the Vick-less Falcons beat the Carson Palmer led Cincinnati Bengals and Vick’s replacement, Joey Harrington, threw two beautiful touchdown passes and had a third one dropped. I seriously think the Falcons have a much better chance to be a team now without Vick.
