I just can’t imagine the Iranian people putting up with this too much longer…assuming they have any power remaining to affect change…
BREITBART.COM – Iran closes barbers offering ‘un-Islamic’ cuts
Iran has shut down barber shops offering unconventional Western hair styles amid a police crackdown on dress deemed un-Islamic, reports said.
“Over the past 15 days, 13 barbers’ shops that had not respected the union’s directives have been closed down,” police commander Mohammad Ali Najafi said.He told the Etemad daily that the barbers’ union had banned eyebrow-plucking for men as well as “deviant Western styles”.
The article goes on to talk about ‘skimpy headscarves’ (scandalous!) and national dress codes. Religious totalitarianism sounds like a hoot doesn’t it?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackDadman: We all know that the lust for Levis brought down the Soviet Union…maybe the idiot hairstyles and tattoos that US kids get will bring down radical Islam in Iran…who knows?
That is simplistic, I know…Ronny RayGun and the Iron Lady had much more to do with it, but the principle is similar.
What exactly is “eyebrow plucking?”
I had to laugh while reading this article about “skimpy headscarves.” It is 96 here today, and every chick at the mall is wearing one of those…good thing that there was no Ayatollah present, or Bossier City would have made the Nightly News…a riot would have ensued (fueled by every redneck in the joint), and Katie Couric would be reporting “how insensitive women (and rednecks) in the South are to Islam”…blah blah blah.
The serious side of this is very serious…sometimes you have to try to laugh, just to remain sane.
Hmm… when I was in La earlier this year, the chicks wearing those skimpy “headscarves” weren’t wearing them on their heads….
Thank goodness…
