BREITBART.COM – Cheney OK After Afghan Blast; 23 Killed
BAGRAM, Afghanistan (AP) — A suicide bomber attacked the entrance to the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan on Tuesday during a visit by Vice President Dick Cheney, killing up to 23 people and wounding 20.Cheney was unhurt in the attack, which was claimed by the Taliban and was the closest that militants have come to a top U.S. official visiting Afghanistan. At least one U.S. soldier, an American contractor and a South Korean soldier were among the dead, NATO said.
I’m guessing if you went to Daily KOS or Democratic Underground or FireDogLake today, you’ll find a lot of posts regretting the Taliban’s failure to kill Dick Cheney. And that says a lot about the way the Left views the world these days.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has the story of how the Huffington Post (another of the unhinged Bush Derangement Syndrome moonbats digital roosting places) deleted over 400 comments wishing Cheney had been killed (or worse) and replaced them with cherry-picked tame comments. What is Arianna Huffington trying to hide? The absolute unhinged insanity of her readers. Of course on the net nothing hides for long. Michelle Malkin has the bulk of them saved in a .pdf file. (Good luck with that .pdf link, it timed out when I tried to download it.)

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackA suicide bomber attacks the main gate (and fails at that) of a base that is miles across while the vice president is coincidentally on base.
This attack was neither aimed at the Vice President nor remotely close to him. I just watched a BBC news report about it on PBS (which just doesn’t seem right), and they acted as if it was this great example of a “resurgent” Taliban in “out of control” Afghanistan.
I don’t understand how a suicide bomber can be equated with a “resurgent” guerrilla force. It only takes 2-3 people to pull something like that off (particularly in a country with explosives everywhere).
