OK, now this is a radical departure.

One of my proofreader/editors has suggested that I stick to my chosen point of view limitations for the map itself. The recommendation is to have the book’s map be a reproduction of a map that the village elders use to show Lirak the route to his quest. I think this is a great idea. Obviously such a map would have no words on it, since the Dwon don’t use writing, so it would be nothing but symbols. Also it would be on a piece of leather, perhaps engraved or burned into the leather. Such a thing would likely be treated as a sacred artifact by the Dwon elders. And it would probably look something like:

Any thoughts about this?
