So, I love technology. My entire adult career has been built around technology, especially computer technology. Even today my job as a mid-level manager of a multi-national corporation is in the technology field. And I just love technology for it’s own merits, apart from the, so far, decent living it has allowed me to enjoy. [...]

Drax has many times commented here that Obama’s true agenda is to destroy the current American economic system to put in place an ideologically derived collectivist state. Up until now I’ve resisted that blanket accusation of what amounts to actual treason because I’ve simply thought that it’s too close to fringe conspiracy lunacy. But watching [...]

Andrew Breitbart offers $100,000 to anyone who can provide him with the full contents of the “JournoList” that Dave Weigel revealed when he resigned his WaPo position. Lefties like to accuse conservatives of having “daily talking points” distributed by shady backroom manipulators (Karl Rove mostly) and toeing the party line like mindless sheep. The reality [...]

Arg…. I thought both of our TVs had survived the lightning strike, but apparently not. Our downstairs TV is fried. Our insurance deductible is $1,000, which means it’s probably going to end up being cheaper just to eat the cost of our lost electronic gear. The wiring in the house that needs to be fixed [...]

I am not an economist. In fact I share most people’s disdain for and suspicion of economists since on any given day you can get two equally qualified “experts” to argue diametrically opposed economic concepts in the face of any crisis, real or imagined. I’ve said it before on this blog and it remains true [...]

A few years ago the “experts” were telling us that an individual right to bear arms was a “construct” of the NRA and that no serious legal scholar believed that the Constitution’s Bill of Rights actually supported any such thing. Well, today the SCOTUS disagreed. This is why it is so important to get conservatives [...]

So, even when that lightning hit and I realized it had fried my laptop, I didn’t even then realize that it was going to take over my entire weekend. Oh well… OK, so I think I mentioned that my laptop has to be sent to California for repairs because apparently there isn’t anyone within 1,500 [...]

Americans are pure Darwinists when it comes to sports. Europeans and most of the rest of the world are anti-Darwinists. This is the only way I can comprehend the popularity of “futbal” which we know in America as “kickball”… or something like that. Americans like sports which have obvious survival benefits. Non-Americans have fallen in [...]

… and apparently blew out my laptop, my DSL modem and possibly even my wireless router. Yes they were on a surge protector, but the lightning hit no more than about fifteen feet from my desk. It blew a line of bark off a pine tree just outside my window. Not sure how long til [...]

Dave Weigel resigns from the WaPo. I’m not sure if most of this blog’s readers even know who Dave Weigel is. I’m only casually acquainted with his work, having encountered some of his writings on the “Reason.com” blog, a blog that I used to have on my favorites list and which I still find myself [...]
