So, “scientists” are noticing now that the earth is capriciously failing to cooperate with the gloom and doom Global Warming narrative. In fact they’ve even noticed it’s getting cooler.
But you just wait. It’s all just a climactic rope-a-dope man! And in ten years it’s coming back with bells on!!!

wcbstv.com – New Jersey Lawmakers Consider Tax On Fast Food
WINDSOR, N.J. (CBS) ― The sputtering economy has caused an increase in prices of many staples including gasoline, rice, ice cream, even beer. Now some lawmakers in New Jersey are considering taking food taxes a step further and install a proverbial “sin” [...]

Pinch-hitting for middle reliever Brandon Medders, Owings blasted a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game. The Diamondbacks went ahead for good later in the inning. What’s so intriguing about this Owings kid is that he is also one of Arizona’s starting pitchers and, I believe, [...]

So, I’ve spent almost all of the content on my new car posts talking about the financial aspect of the improved gas mileage.
Now that I’ve driven my new Yaris over a hundred miles, I feel qualified to report on how it drives.
Frankly, I was surprised by how much I enjoy driving it. I had test-driven [...]

Can it get any better? The Diamondback’s starting pitching rotation already owns the best ERA in the league, the team has the best record in the majors, and they may have just added another ace to their roster, a rookie heat hurler named Max Scherzer. Time will tell, but this kid looks good…

I have been analyzing the Cosmic Family driving habits as part of this purchase of the new car.
It’s actually pretty scary. I put a spreadsheet together and just listed the driving that we have, up until now, considered “normal” driving behavior.
Basically it comes out to roughly 1,250 miles spread among three cars EACH WEEK. The [...]

OK, we’ve basically had the Yaris for about 36 hours now. That means I’ve driven it home, the Cosmic Daughter has driven it to school and back, the Cosmic Wife has driven it to pick up the Cosmic Son and get some Cosmic groceries… and I’ve driven it to work. The car was filled up [...]

So now that Wright has made the media tour and even with all Obama’s horses, and all Obama’s men, nobody could put Wright’s mind back together again, Obama has had to admit that Wright is exactly what I’ve called him from the first day I became aware of him. A racist, anti-American nut-job.
Now here’s the [...]

Well, maybe it isn’t REAL freakonomics, but it freaked me out.
The economy has gotten to the point that it has become insanely counter-intuitive.
Here’s the deal. I had a fairly decrepit 1993 Nissan Pathfinder. It’s been pretty decrepit for a while. In fact it’s remained decrepit because it was paid for. Nothing was owed on it, [...]

I cannot understand how the people of this country don’t just snicker and laugh at the sort of over-the-top pandering our politicians do as they scrounge for votes. Obama visits the Basketball Hall of Fame while in Indiana stumping for votes. I’m sure when they head for Kentucky they’ll develop a sudden interest in horse [...]

OK so explain to me how a “famous photographer” like Annie Leibovitz can get away with taking half-clothed pictures of a fifteen year old girl, but if a high school volleyball coach does the same thing he or she finds themselves fingerprinted and mugshot and on a sex offenders list?

Well, I promised a review of the latest release of Dungeons and Dragons from Wizards of the Coast. Today I played in a four hour session that took us through three encounters with various NPCs.

Because he, like Bush, believes that there is some level of civil discourse in politics that makes it “out of bounds” or “out of touch with reality” to run ads that truthfully and appropriately attack his opponents simply because his opponents brand them offensive.
In short McCain (like GW Bush) has a fatal blind spot about [...]

When the Wall Street Journal advocates food stockpiling, I have to think that there is something to worry about.
One of the major reasons for this sudden change in food price dynamics? Yes, you guessed it, corn being redirected from food markets into the growing “bio-fuels” market. So whether you agree with global warming alarmists or [...]

Here is what rich Hollywood socialites do when they aren’t lecturing the rest of America on how they should get rid of their SUVs, hang their clothes outside to dry and buy fluorescent bulbs to replace incandescent ones.
They put four people on a Gulfstream jet and fly off for an overnight “jaunt”. How many carbon [...]

So tonight I ended up helping out at a star party held at an elementary school down in the Denver flatlands. As we neared Denver we realized that the clouds were gathering, the wind was howlling, and we might just not have much luck.
By the time we got set up and the sun was starting [...]
